John Squire

Many Believe Squire was the Backbone of the Seahorses, in a way true. His experience gave the Seahorses
their break in the music world, without him Helme, Fletcher and Watts would have had to worked a lot
harder to get tho the popularity they got to together. Squire in a way seemed hard to work
with. Ending Madchester greats Stone Roses (Himself, Ian Brown, Mani and Reni) in 1996 and given an
"Investment" from Geffen Records to quite literally make himself a new band.
He did just that.
Whilst drowning his sorrows in a York pub, spotted bassist Stuart Fletcher, and a Busking Chris Helme
along with drummer Andy Watts formed "The Seahorses".
Playing his trusty
Gibson Les Paul, Squire produced some of the most influencial guitar music of the decade. Love is the
Law - a Seahorses favourite. Drivin' South, Waterfall and Love Spreads from the Roses days make John
a hero to Guitarists worldwide - Including Me! -
Not a stranger to the outside world, John
is a keen cyclist - taking it up to stamp his Cocaine addiction which nearly killed him. He admits his
fassion sence is abismal but whatever fells comfy goes well. Also worked with Liam Gallacher of
Oasis on the chords of "Love Me And Leave Me"
